Introduction

Prostate cancer is one of the most serious oncological diseases affecting men across a wide age spectrum. In the Czech Republic, it is the most common oncological diagnosis in men, and its incidence continues to rise. However, thanks to modern diagnostic methods and advanced treatment approaches, the quality of life for patients and the possibilities for long-term disease control are improving. Nonetheless, many challenges remain, including effective treatment sequences, individualized patient care, and access to innovative therapies.

To address these challenges, the Prostate project was created, aiming at the comprehensive collection and analysis of clinical data from patients with advanced and metastatic prostate cancer. This project connects experts from across the Czech Republic and Europe with the goal of improving patient care and advancing knowledge in the treatment of this serious disease.

About the Project

Prostate is a multicenter registry focused on monitoring patients with metastatic prostate cancer and their treatment modalities. The project involves systematic data collection on treatment progress, the outcomes of various therapeutic approaches, and their sequences.

Oncological centers specializing in the provision of costly and innovative treatments for metastatic prostate cancer are collaborating on this project. The registry will gradually expand to allow the inclusion of additional collaborating centers, not only within the Czech Republic but also across Europe. This will create a unique platform for data sharing to support scientific research and improve clinical practice.

Objectives

The project focuses on the systematic collection and analysis of data to understand disease progression, the effectiveness of individual therapies, and the potential for their combination. These insights will contribute to enhancing care for patients with prostate cancer.

Primary Objective:

  • Mapping the epidemiological and clinical data of patients with advanced and metastatic prostate cancer in the Czech Republic and Europe.
  • Monitoring the long-term course of the disease and the effectiveness of individual treatment approaches.

Secondary Objectives:

  • Analyze different types of treatment, including radiotherapy, surgical procedures, and systemic therapies, to evaluate their benefits and risks.
  • Monitor treatment side effects and key laboratory parameters that influence treatment outcomes.
  • Evaluate treatment sequences, time to disease progression, and overall patient survival.

Project Benefits

The Prostate registry represents a crucial tool for improving care for patients with metastatic prostate cancer. Through extensive collaboration among oncological centers and systematic data collection, it will be possible to better understand the challenges associated with treating this disease. The project will also contribute to scientific progress and provide a foundation for further research and innovation in prostate cancer treatment.
